Why is it that the wanter never gets and the getter never wants?

Us wanters do get...it just usually takes a while and we have to go thru a lot to figure out that what we have been wanting isn't really what we want. Confusing...sorry but I hope it makes sense. I am the wanter that's becoming a getter slowly but surely.
